As I was reading and journaling my prayer this morning, I was struck by the story of Jesus within Luke.
It's a chapter I've read many times before but today, I really took note of Marys attitude. Gabriel the angel appeared and told Mary she would be pregnant with the savior. Now, Mary could've reacted scared, fearful, confused, annoyed, etc. She was to be we, so how would it appear to not only everyone but specifically her fiancé if she were pregnant.
How does she respond? In Luke 1:38 she says, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word."
Mary responds as any woman of God should. She is a servant and let it be made true! What an amazing example of a woman of faith who trusts in what she's instructed to do.
I chose fearless as my word of the year.
Fearless is being able to go after my calling and what I've felt led to do.
Fearless is starting over, trying new things, and stepping out of my comfort zone.
Fearless is pursuing the Lord in every single aspect of my life, praying bold prayers, and seeing what can come from it.
Fearless is trusting myself and trusting God will lead the way.
Fearless is making mistakes and rather than dwelling on them is learning from them.
Fearless is dreaming big.
Fearless means relinquishing my control on life.
Fearless means putting to bed anxiety.
Fearless is 2023 and everything that's to come for the year.
